Design has a pivotal role to play in E-textiles and wearables that goes beyond aesthetics to address the critical issue of performance.  This presentation focuses on the areas where design can and does make a difference such as technology integration, user engagement, efficiencies to reduce environmental impact, data capture and storage. Included will be case studies as well as discussion of planned events within SUSTAIN (WP4), and its importance to graduates in the new MSc E-textiles and Wearable Technologies at WSA, University of Southampton.
