E-Textiles Network Webinar – Human Centred E Textile Development: Co Creation and Benchmarking Against Gold Standards

Presented by Dr Saiful Hoque, University of Toronto

E textiles hold significant promise for real world clinical monitoring, but successful translation requires technologies that are not only technically robust, but also meaningful and usable for the people they are designed to serve. In this webinar, I will present a co design–driven approach to developing wearable e textile sensors tailored for clinical and rehabilitation settings. Working closely with clinicians, researchers, and individuals with lived experience, our team integrates user insights throughout the development lifecycle—from early ideation and prototyping to iterative refinement.

A key focus of this talk will be the validation of e textile garment against established gold standard measurement tools. I will discuss our methods for quantifying performance, aligning sensor output with clinical benchmarks, and ensuring that accuracy, reliability, and comfort are not compromised during long term use.

This webinar will take place on Wednesday 24th June 2026 13.00-14.00 (BST). To register for the webinar, please complete the registration form.
