Development in textiles production technology has allowed for more automated production, requiring less human involvement. However in the quest for efficiency, advanced textiles production presents issues when developing and producing innovative e-textiles. This webinar will highlight how e-textiles development, particularly research into sustainability and e-textiles, can be informed by exploring the history of textiles production and the affordances that older equipment can offer. Dr Amy Chen will present her recent work on designing e-textiles for disassembly, informed by exploration into older textile technologies.
